Should you buy a petrol or an electric golf cart?
Buy petrol if your cart works long days, climbs hills, tows, or lives where charging is awkward. Buy electric if it mostly does short, quiet runs and can charge overnight.
Petrol carts are louder and need engine servicing. In return, there is no battery to look after and no range limit beyond the next refuel. We set out the full trade-off, running costs included, in electric vs petrol golf carts.
From our side of the counter: our clients are drawn to newer, more affordable carts, and lithium batteries have been in high demand. If you're on the fence, compare our lithium range before settling on petrol. If petrol is right for the job, new petrol carts start at $7,000, and E-Z-GO models also start at $7,000.
Are used petrol golf carts worth it?
They can be. A well-serviced petrol cart has no battery pack to replace, so engine condition and service history matter most.
Ask for the service history, check for oil leaks and listen for a rough idle before you commit. Our used golf cart buying checklist walks through the rest. Ask us exactly what cover comes with any used cart you're considering. Our three-year warranty applies to new carts.
What warranty comes with a new petrol golf cart?
Every new cart, petrol included, comes with a full 36-month warranty on parts and labour, covering the drivetrain, chassis and electronics.
You also get a 48-hour service callout in metro zones and access to our nationwide mobile service network. Full terms are on the warranty and servicing page.
Can you drive a petrol golf cart on the road?
Only where your state allows it and only once the cart is set up and registered to suit. Rules differ between QLD, NSW, VIC, WA and SA.
Check golf cart road rules by state and whether you need a licence before you buy.
How fast is delivery for a petrol golf cart?
Every cart ships fully insured. It takes 3–5 business days from dispatch to NSW, VIC and QLD metro areas, 5–8 to SA, ACT and TAS, and 7–14 to WA, NT and regional towns.
The details are on our delivery page. Shopping locally? See Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Gold Coast.
